Cancellation not accepted.

I duplicated an order by mistake, cancelled it immediately, but the order was delivered anyway and the charge made to my credit card. I am not interested in having two copies of the same book and now I'm stuck. Feeling very disappointed for this poor service to a client.

Ordered book, never arrived

Ordered book, said 7-10 day delivery. 30 days later, I get an email saying basically "sorry, sucks to be you".

Inefficient and uncaring

Inefficient. The last two orders I made never showed up- I am VERY aware we are in a crisis with shipping at the moment and gave them a grace period of a month or two after expected arrival. Ironically the customer service team do not seem to be able to read: they processed a refund even though I had asked for a replacement more than once. I feel annoyed I ever supported this company and never will again.

Meine reise durch Asien

I ordered my book on the 25th August, the book was published the next day,26th August The book was not dispatched until the 10th September! Why?
I have still not received this book
On the website Delivery to the UK is 3-6 business days,
We are now at 21 days or 15/18 business days and no sign of the book
Appalling and unreliable service I will not use them again and I will advise everyone I can not to use them

I receive my order after one month

I ordered one book. It arrives in Manila after a month.

Terrible

Terrible. I ordered 3 books. All 3 were dispatched separately for god knows why.

Only one was delivered in timely manner. One was lost and one has no tracking number and, according to Book Depository, should be delivered by 4th of October...! keep in mind I placed the order on the 14th of August!

Customer support was good. I received a refund for the book that was lost. Still waiting for the one without the tracking number.

Would not recommend...

P.S - This was my first time ordering from them. Won't do that again.

Update: Book Depository offered to re-order the book that is without a tracking number but I refused and instead requested for a refund and received it. If there was a separate rating for the customer support I would've given it 5 stars. I stand behind my 2 stars rating. The store it self does not perform well. I wont be ordering any more books from this place.

Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service. After making payment deduction, their advertised 5-8 working days delivery is inaccurate.
They do not respond to email as you say on your website within 24 hours.

Will definitely not be recommending this business to anyone.

Seems like a dishonest business.

I’ve been very patient

I’ve been very patient. I ordered 2 books in June.
After 6 weeks of waiting I made constant contact with them and each time they say it’s coming. Waited till late June and then they said will send a replacement copy. It’s taken till September before one of them arrived but holding my breath on the other one since they did not mention anything about a replacement copy for that one. They should set up a tracking and trace courier system. Totally frustrating.

The best booksellers going.

Living in the UK and having used the Book Depository on an almost weekly basis for over 15 years, I cannot praise them too highly. In my experience they are the Gold Standard in terms of prices and reliability. On more than one occasion they have compensated me when books have been damaged in the post, even when the postman has actually bent the book to get it through my letterbox!

I am therefore astounded to read of negative experiences suffered by non-UK customers, to whom I can only offer profound commiserations. What I should mention in this context is that it seems no longer possible to access the Book Depository UK from abroad - whether this is somehow related to non-UK customers' negative experiences I cannot say.

Perhaps the solution is to get a British friend to order the book and have it sent to one (worldwide shipping is free), and reimburse him subsequently. Keep persevering and good luck!

Honestly, no idea, seems like their staff are very untrustworthy I had problems with them before I even ordered something, because they would keep changing what they told me about stock on a book, I wouldnt trust these liars with valuable information like your personal card (have ordered it in the end, but never arrived, they lied about the stock apparently and its gonna be a much longer wait, regretting buying it from here)

Why is it that having an account with bookdepository, and all details and a valid credit card registered, I am always requested to fill in all details again, like billing adress, delivery adress etc? Thanks Helena

A:

Honestly, no idea. I also have them but I fill them again (I don't put my credit card info because I don't want to, and the address it's just filled in because Google remembers it).
